Our purpose and vision is to love God, love others, make disciples, reach the world and become more like Christ. We accomplish this by creating a safe, fun and nurturing environment where kids can celebrate who God made them to be and learn about God through many different experiences. Children’s Ministries has several different ways to get plugged in, so we look forward to meeting you!
AT HARVEST, THERE ARE MANY WAYS FOR
YOUR CHILD TO CONNECT WITH GOD!
Amped Kids is a fast-paced Children’s Service on Sunday mornings at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30am. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade have an opportunity to participate in a live worship service, experience a Bible-based message and engage in age-appropriate small groups led by godly role models. It is the goal of Amped Kids to be the best 60 minutes of a child’s week. This goal is accomplished through connecting children with God and each other, and helping children discover their God-given gifts. We are currently using the High Voltage Kids Ministries curriculum! Please contact the Children’s Ministries Offices for more information.
Girl’s Ministries is a discipleship ministry for girls in preschool through fifth grade. Girl’s Ministries meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm during the traditional school year. Girls Ministries weekly activities include Bible memorization, learning life principles from God’s Word, crafts, and building relationships with each other and godly female role models. They enjoy special events throughout the year that encourage a closer relationship with God, friends and family, such as: the Girl’s Ministries Sleepover, the Mother Daughter Tea, the Father Daughter Dinner, and Passport to the World! Check out the Harvest Church calendar for our upcoming events!
Royal Rangers is a discipleship ministry for boys in kindergarten through fifth grade. Royal Rangers meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm during the traditional school year. Boys learn to trust Jesus as they build friendships with each other and their adult male role models. Royal Rangers is designed to reach, teach, and keep boys for Christ. Activities include weekly outpost meetings, merit badge activities and special events throughout the year such as: Pinewood Derby, Father Son Campout, Mother Son Outing, Rocket Day, and Passport to the World! Ordained Praise Children’s Choir
Ordained Praise Children’s Choir is designed to learn and share the Word of God in a fun and creative environment. Children develop their ministry gifts through singing, drama and dance. The children present a musical in the Spring and at Christmas time. Please see the Harvest Church calendar for upcoming events.
WELCOME TO THE HARVEST NURSERY MINISTRY ZOO!
We are happy you’ve decided to join us in worship at Harvest Church. If you have children ages birth through 5 years old, who have not yet started Kindergarten, then they will participate in our Harvest Nursery Ministry zoo. Our HNM program is very intentional. Our first priority is showing children Jesus’ love. Our continual prayer is that every child will be cared for in a safe, fun, and loving place that they will want to return to again and again. We enforce a well-baby nursery for the health of children and volunteers.
The Harvest Nursery Ministry opens 15 minutes prior to each service
Sundays 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30am
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE HARVEST NURSERY MINISTRY?
In coordinating with the developmental stages of childhood, your little one will be placed in one of the following classes:
Little Lambs (0-12mos)
Curious Cubs (12-23mos)
Terrific Toucans (2s & 3s)
Mighty Monkeys (4s & 5s)
Newborn to 3 years old
In our 0 to 3 years classrooms your child will learn basic foundational Bible stories every Sunday through simple stories and concepts and enjoy coloring a coordinating color page that shows what they learned that day. We provide age-appropriate activities, story time, music and movement, and prayer time for all ages. Each room is staffed by a teacher and volunteers who love children. We are committed to providing a safe, fun, and loving environment.
4 to 5 years old
In HNM your preschool-aged child (4s & 5s) will experience activity stations, kitchen and Rescue Heroes® centers, manipulative and table top centers, snack time discipleship, and art.
Large Group Lesson – includes a Bible story, worship songs, and learning how to apply the Bible to our lives. Kids also learn that the Bible is true, because it is God’s Word, and that Jesus is our forever friend.
Playground – weather permitting, we go to the “park.” If it’s too hot or cold we have indoor play time.
Snack is offered each week and is typically cereal and goldfish mixture and water. During snack we also recite the Bible story scripture and give a sticker to reward hiding God’s Word in their hearts.
The Arts and Crafts that your child makes will reflect a key point from the Bible story.
Children must be checked into HNM by a parent or guardian. When checking your children into our electronic system, you must have a DigiTag for each child. On their DigiTag is a paging number. If your child is unhappy and cannot be consoled after 10 minutes, we will page you using this number. At that time, we invite you to stay and help your child transition or take your child into service with you. We have Busy Packs you may borrow that include activity books and crayons. Please return the Busy Pack to the HNM registration counter after service. Please pick up your children promptly after service.
Our diaper and toileting policy
In the Lambs, Cubs, and Toucans classrooms, only our Lead Teacher will change diapers or assist with toileting. In our Mighty Monkey’s classroom, a female can escort the child to their bathroom. We can help with buttons, buckles, and belts, but we do not wipe. For toilet training children, please send an extra pair of clothes – right down to their socks – in case of accident.
If your child is unhappy and cannot be consoled by a caregiver after 10 minutes, we will page you. At that time, we invite you to stay and help your child transition or take your child into service with you. We have Busy Packs you may borrow that include activity books and crayons. Please return the Busy Pack to the HNM registration counter after service.
We are a volunteer driven ministry and cannot do this without you!
We have an amazing staff with a teacher in each classroom for each service. We are happy to come alongside you as you disciple your child. This provides for longevity of the ministry and a familiar face to our little ones. We strive to give each child consistency while in our ministry’s care.
*We ask all families whose children participate in the Nursery volunteer to help in one service once a month. Complete our Volunteer Registration Form at the HNM registration counter.
Protecting HNM Children and Volunteers
All volunteers are required to complete a Ministry Involvement Application and be fingerprinted on site, including background reference checks. To volunteer, please pick up your application at the HNM registration counter or contact HNM at (916) 405-7858 or email@example.com.
We also implement the following procedure:
2 persons rule; one of which is a female. There must be a minimum of two persons at all times in classrooms, playground, or when transporting kids from one location to another.
WELCOME TO THE HARVEST CULTIVATE MINISTRY!
In Cultivate, our desire is to prepare the hearts of individuals of all ages with special needs to know Christ. We know that God wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-6) and we are excited to be a part of His plan.
We offer a safe, loving environment where fun activities and Biblical stories are taught. Whatever the need may be, our volunteers are ready to adapt the curriculum or the classroom in such a way that each individual has the ability to thrive and grow in their relationship with Christ.
The Cultivate volunteers are trained care givers who are prepared and excited to teach your loved one the Word of God in a fun practical way. Each volunteer has been pre-screened and trained to care for the children and have a calling to work with individuals with special needs.
Please come to room 108 on Sundays at 11:30 am and see what Cultivate is all about!
